Title: When do raccoons become "prime"?
Post by: lokidog on October 12, 2013, 11:02:46 PM: I want to whack and stack on the coons this season and am wondering when you more experienced trappers feel the coons are the best. I was thinking Nov to Jan?

Post by: Humptulips on October 13, 2013, 08:12:02 PM: I think Nov.1 is a little early but I wouldn't throw one away at that time. maybe a little blue but still saleable. I'd give them 'till the middle of the month before I started trapping them. They start to go downhill in February but not like they do back east where they den more. Should be pretty good 'till March.

Post by: wags on October 14, 2013, 09:11:27 PM: Thanksgiving is a good rule of thumb. You'll still catch some #IIs, but they're worth trapping starting about then.
