Find it funny no one has seen any birds flying? Not asking for any spots we got those privately covered. Just seeing if any birds are moving around before we drive over for the weekend. Thanks

Wasn't by this there this past weekend, but was the week before.  Around 1500-2000 on soap lake, but really not moving much like they will be when the weather gets a little worse.  Went out very high and went south towards Ephrata.  Not broken up into smaller groups like you like to see.  Just a couple of big waves.  Personally, I'd wait until we get a little more weather.  (That late December flight off of that lake is really something-I think last year there were easily several thousand bunched up on Soap Lake alone)

What is field goose and duck hunting like out by where Highway 28 and 283 make a Y? Based on past years experience.

Was actually hunting over there saturday and sunday. Saturday we were after ducks around the potholes area and didn't see hardly any geese.  Saturday night we got a call saying geese were hitting a field my buddy has permission to hunt.  Got there Sunday and there is no shortage of geese out that way, saw incredible numbers of birds and had a great hunt.

Glad to hear that. Im new to this area and got permission to hunt a couple corn circles out in that area. Have not been out there to see what is flying in the area yet. The farmer said they get their fair share but nothing compared to the Straford area, so I was not really to sure what to expect from the area. Was there many small groups or were they all still in large groups?

We were literally on the border of Straford in a field.  There were flocks of 100-200 and then you had the flocks of 10-20.  We never got a big flock to work out but the smaller flocks are where we had our success.

At any rate there are birds in the area so I would think you should at least have a couple opportunities.

Yea hopefully this snow will push some more down here. Growing up on a farm in Whitman County and hunting for geese and ducks down there, we always heard about how much better the waterfowl hunting was up here around the Moses Lake Ephrata area. I am looking forward to getting out and getting into some birds.
