My friends and I set up in Spokane area for a field goose hunt last Saturday Oct 20th. 4 of us shot 14 big fat honkers. Our second volley of the day got us our first band. It was thrilling the guy who got it has been hunting 20 + years first band. Our last volley we dropped 5 birds. 4 of them ( yes 4 of them) were BANDED!!!! Thats 5 bands in one day!!!! What an awesome morning

Congrats! Bands are always a great bonus to any hunt!

Nice shooting. Where were they banded at?
-
Wed before last, we took a banded honker and a Spec. Spec was suicidal, came straight in, all by itself. Cupped up a 1/4 mi away and had feet down to set into the decoys when the youngest in our group took it.
The info was sent in via the web and all we got back is that it was male and banded in Spokane county prior to 2012.

Where they local bands. They banded a ton of the local birds over the past few years. They were trying to find reason's to the declining numbers of resident birds. I have a hunch they are getting shot. :chuckle:
Nice group of birds.

Yes local birds but where we were at there have been more increase then decrease in resident birds
