Big boys are moving big time.
-
Meant to post a pic of this guy. He is the Large Blacktail. The pic of the first one is just a good one.
-
I'd leave the securely of the eastside and go west to have a chance at that second buck. Beautiful Blacktail.
-
 Good Luck with one of those dudes.... that second buck is a SLOB

:yike: That is one of the coolest black tails I have ever seen!!!

Yeah he has more than his fair share of of bone on his head. I got a picture of a fork horn from the same spot. I helped a guy pack it out today after I retrieved my cams!

Makes me want to give up on this guy. Hunted him with the bow during modern last year than the bow during early archery this year. I think I would rather shoot that monster 5x5 although I like the mass and brow tines on the tall narrow buck.

I have a 9 second video of this buck but I cant post it to Youtube for some reason. Its an .AVI file type so it's on the supported file type list. Can I email this to someone who could help me post it?
I'm trying to figure out if this is an old buck that is regressing or a young buck that has more to go and its a good video that shows him well. I've attached the still image which is not very good.
If someone can PM me I can email them the video. Thanks.

It looks like you are getting at least a few pics during the day. How often do the mashers show up in the daylight?
-
At first I didn't get any pics during the day but once I started backtracking trails from feeding (generally clear cuts) to bedding I have gotten a lot more pics of bucks during shooting hours. Mostly in either bigger timber or 15-20 y.o reprod. I get most of the daytime pics in the reprod it's just tough to find a spot to hang a tree stand and I don't like hunting out of ground blinds.
The video I have of the buck in the last pic you can tell it was blowing really hard, the deer seem to come out of the timber and go into the little pockets in the reprod during those rainy/windy days. The pic of the big 5x5 was taken about 250 yards from the bottom side of a heavily hunted clear cut. I moved my camera setup down the ridge another 300 yards and found rubs and some well established trails in the older timber. I'm guessing I will have a better shot at pics/killing him in the day time further from the cut.
We'll see. I've only bow hunted BT's and haven't killed anything decent yet. Missed a very respectable 3X3 with eyeguards two years ago on a stand that was set up on the edge of the reprod and timber. I'm getting more and better pics of bigger bucks so maybe, just maybe I might be figuring it out. Luck is always good too.

Some good solid bucks. They sure start rutting a bit later in this spot, I hunted it last year during rifle season but didnt see any action. Nothing started moving in here until first week of November. Looks like two solid bucks but I still havent found Mr Narrow.

This Dude has regressed to almost nothing. Big body on him still though. The second pic is of a buck from a different spot, he's pretty solid too. I have a good video of him but not sure how to post videos on the forum.
