Does anyone have a rifle that would compare to one of these? Any caliber. Let me know some options?
-
Hard to compare, but I would talk with Rbros. Definitely won't find better people and better accuracy than that. And in my conversations with him they will make up whatever you want within reason. Fully custom and from my research about the same price as McMillan. Hunt Washington member and local too!
I've shot a few hunting rifles made by Rich Reiley of High Tech Customs out of Colorado Springs. For a reasonable priced no-nonsense hunting rifle they are the best I've ever pulled the trigger on. I believe Rich made Craig Boddington's favorite 8mm. I've been debating as to whom I am going to go with on my next custom. It's going to be one of those two shops for sure. Just can't quite make up my mind yet who it is going to be and what cartridge. Might have to buy both :chuckle:

Give Travis with RBros a call. He builds some tack drivers.
-
He's doing my 280AI
-
Claude Kinard at the shooters shop built my 6.5. Tack driver ! he will work up and build a custum load fot you aswell. Grahm WA.

"Tack driving" results from three variables: (1) the rifle, (2) the ammunition, and (3) the shooter.
Many assume that you can buy a "tack driving" rifle and be done.
You can't.

Whomever you choose for a builder make sure of the following:
They use quality proven components
They test fire, break in barrel, function test and prove accuracy( this shouldn't be an added charge)
They back their product
You would be surprised how many builders don't test fire or check accuracy. They just assume it will shoot and if it doesn't they blame the shooter. Some companies charge extra to do something that should be done in the first place.

for sure my builder shot over 100 rounds through my gun the barrel (hart) took awhile to come around .

From the looking I have done the RBROS are quite a bit less expensive than McMillan and local, with a great reputation. Buy from Washington folks than can service and take care of your needs here.

Shooting 1/4 MOA is insane! You are a way better shot than I am :chuckle: As far as Rbros accuracy and does it compare. I'd suggest this thread http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,106359.msg1388991.html#msg1388991 (http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,106359.msg1388991.html#msg1388991)
I think that equates to about 5/32 minute!

I agree but the rifles and loads worked amazing together and i have learned from one of the best in my book. Also nightforce optics give anyone another advantage.

From the results ive seen on here, I'm not sure why someone wouldn't look hard at RBros.
:dunno:

WOW, 1/4 minute... I do not know any rifle that will put up those numbers consistently.
