Title: Another build update 2
Post by: Blacklab on October 27, 2013, 09:27:04 PM
After building my first AR Grendel last year. I realized how easy it really is. So I'm doing it again. Just the upper though. Since I have two complete lowers. It's a Lilja 17' Ruger 204. The barrel should arrive Tuesday the upper receiver gas block ect should be here Thursday or Friday. Along with dies, cases, and bullets 32 40 grain horn V-max. Can't wait to go BANG  :chuckle:

Pics suck sorry. Should have all necessary parts Saturday. I'll try to post better pictures  ;)

Received all the parts to build the 204 upper. Then Murphy's law struck  :bash: As I was attaching the barrel and aligning the gas tube. I broke the dpms barrel wrench :yike:. Well one of the two pins. Orderd another one, this one has 4 or 5 pins. With a new barrel nut. Which that got a little tweeked also. While waiting for the new parts I'll load up some rounds to break in the barrel and trying to fine the sweet spot for some red mist

I have those bullets sitting here with a few test loads already loaded for the blackout. Just waiting for the other part  They seem wicked, was hoping to have a few people test them out on deer. The gov shutdown did not help me  :'(

I have really been thinking about doing a 300 SAUM or 325wsm. I have been holding off hoping someone will come out with a cheaper 300 WM. Not going to wait much longer.

Yep Yep. Some great video of those bullets out there taking wild boar and deer. They are wicked and open very well, but man are they spendy!

My wifes doe this year was less then 40 yards and all I could think was wish we had the blackout :chuckle:

Cool. I'd like to know as well.

I do know the SAKO subsonic isn't that great on Deer sized Mammals.

.458 socom should be on everyone's want list.
I finally got a source for bullets and have saved up enough brass to start reloading.
Awesome round.
