WDFW has requested the legislature approve several measures regarding hunter education during the 2014 legislative session which begins in January. Those changes include:
• Minimum age of 8 to take hunter ed
• Maximum fee of $20 to take hunter ed. Maximum fee of $10 to receive a duplicate card. Funds will remain in the hunter ed program
• Hunters under the age of 14 MUST be accompanied by another hunter at least 18 years old and has a WA hunting license. This does not apply to those lands owned by an immediate family member or lessee. A violation of this is NOT criminal but rather an infraction, which is simply a fine
