Title: my little pup is progressing nicely
Post by: high country on November 03, 2008, 05:50:27 AM
well, my little draht is entering puppy stage (6mos) and starting to get more daring. I took her out for her first big country hunt a couple weeks ago. the wind was howling so bad she could not hear me when I though I lost her and the grass was 4 feet tall so I could not see her........no choice but to hit the button.I gaver her a tap on the lowest setting and she jumped 5 feet in th air and stared me in the eye.......you had to see it.

any how sh points the first rooty about 45 seconds into the field.....I though she was joking. we bump 10 or 12 hens and of course while I am taking a leak.....another rooty. by now she has this pretty well figured out and is working the wind like a champ. I end up dumping my first at 40 yds and she did not even hear me shoot the wind was blowing so hard. we looked hard and as she was running to me at full tilt she locks up like a pretzel and bingo........there he is. we bump another rooty and I watch it land 200 yds away......aoof we go. as we get to the area I suspect the bird to be in a car load of orange shows up. just as they cross the fence......point, flush, shot, retreve.......just like on tv :)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi193.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz16%2Fgyonemura%2F072.jpg&hash=b6ec0dc86cdbd37df126222d6e0ec316ad9d4256)
