Post your reviews on this bow. Yes or no?
-
No!
-
They don't call them bow wreck for nothing.
-
Maybe/Maybe not!
What draw length?
In my opinion unless you shoot a short draw length you will find the Experience a much easier bow to shoot and over all you would be happier with it. Those short brace height bows shoot fast, but it doesn't matter much if you are not seasoned enough to shoot it well. I've got 30 years of seasoning in the field and on the target line and I don't rate myself good enough to gain with the short brace height at 28.5" draw length.
In that 30+ years I have never shot a bow better than the Bowtech Experience. It is a GREAT bow! I'm not a big fan of all their bows, but the Experience is exceptional.
BTW - Don't listen to the Hoyt guys. They are just jealous that Bowtech can combine zero cam lean, easy to shoot and 340 fps together in a single package. And 350 fps...Phogedaboudit :chuckle:

What's that last word Rad?
PS A buddy of mine shoots an Experience and loves it. Fast too.

:chuckle: I just might be the furthest thing from a New York Italian you can get and still be white! :chuckle:

I thought maybe you were holding your dictionary upside down or something.

Love the Insanity. Very fast and super quiet for me. Faster than I ever figured it could be. Was a very good choice and I couldn't be happier.

I love mine and have been able to shoot it quite well so far. You do have to be on your game or the brace hieght can let you know you wherent. Im able to put 4 arrows from 80yds in a 6"-8" plate

Hoyt guys love to live in the past. ;) I shot Hoyt for 15 years back when they were great! But I learned that things change. Of course I could shoot a bow that under performs by about 25% and costs 30% too much and have peace of mind. But, today the archer no longer has to make that decision.

lol never a dull moment with you RAD :chuckle:

:chuckle: I meant it strictly in good fun  I have read enough of your posts to be quite confident that you shoot many more bow brands and models annually; than I have since beginning bowhunting. I will say though that when it comes to bows I guess I am a bit of a romantic, and dont shop to hard once I have found " The One". I did that once and I swear that Q2XL hexed the next 3 bows I owned, cuz if I could imagine what divorce would be like that was it. Frustration, and discontent. Finally in a moment of panic I put her all back together and killed another three animals with her. That must have been the peace offering :chuckle:, because the next bow I shot had "IT" the spark, the intangible quality that says we were meant to kill stuff together. Since then we have shed alot of blood and although I will still shoot the latest stuff whenever an opportunity arises, I can say I havent been struck by anything that has the whole package for me yet. Bowtech and Elite with their steps toward longer ATA hunting styled bows however is a step in the right direction  They are trying to sway me.... But then again hoyt has offered that for years. :chuckle:

blackveltbowhunter - I knew it was all in good fun. As are most of my posts. However there are some who have been bitten by the Obamahoyt brainwash and still think everything else is a liability. Only one bow series I know of would I quit bowhunting if I had to shoot them. Hoyt does not make that line. But, I have the luxury of shooting absolutely anything I want and Hoyt is way down on my list due to price for performance, my odd hand not liking the grip, and the way they arrogantly treat me and others while at the shows. It really hurts to say it as I at one time ate, drank, dreamed and bled Hoyt 24/365. I don't think any company out there right now has a top to bottom great lineup like Hoyt used to have back when. I think Bear's 2014 line-up comes very close. But there are a lot of bow companies that really have out done themselves lately. And Bowtech is at the top of the heap if you choose carefully according to the performance and your abilities.
I generally shoot Bear bows because of the people at Bear and the product is very solid. I wasn't so sure I would continue after Mark Wenberg left, but the people remaining are still A+ in my book. But, 2013 came and I just could not shoot Bear when the Experience, like you said, just had "IT!" It's been a long time since I held a bow with "IT!" The Insanity is very close to the Experience in design and I have set up a number of 27" draw length guys with the Insanity. However, for average sized guys and average shooters like me the Experience is the real 2013 winner in my opinion. I expect it will still be a 2014 winner as well. Though I am hoping for a Carbon Experience that has "IT!" as well.
Because of my odd thumbs the grip on the new Bear just falls short of having the "IT!" factor. For me, if Bear would ever change the grip to that of Bowtech, Elite or Pearson (maybe even PSE) I would have a dang hard time choosing one over the other between the Bowtech and Bear. And they are priced within reason of their performance. $1,200 for a bow in my mind is ridiculous and unnecessary. Heck, that's the price of a Sako or Weatherby that I could hand down to family members for generations. To ask that for a bow that will be outdated this time next year is absurd. At least it is in my way of thinking. Even the 900-1,000 price tags are hard for me to swallow. If I had to pay full price on bows I'd probably be shooting either a Hoyt Charger, Mission Ballistic, PSE Vendetta, Martin Alien or probably the Bear Domain or Method. All those bows far out perform their modest price tags, are easy to shoot and lack nothing more than a fancy logo and a bloated man ego.

Bout time someone said it and I totally agree. And what gets me is that people stand in line to pay those prices without even dickering.

Man I wish I could get my hands on more of the new bows out there. I love my insanity but really do need a bow that fits my longer draw needs. I have a hard time picking up a bow and not compering it to the little shock and noise the insanity makes, plus the speed helps over take my abilty to guess yardage mistakes.

I have not played with the new line up. If it's like my anarchy you should be able to pull the over molded grip off and it should have the thin grip just like the pse bows. Unless they changed the grips.

The PSE grip and the Anarchy grip are vastly different! The Anarchy grip is much wider and the edge radius is much larger. Almost touching at grip center. The PSE grip similar to the Bear Assault I took to NWT is thinner and the radius is small enough that more than 30% of the grip surface is flat. So the PSE/Bear Assault grip is more square in the hand and resists torque to the riser when your thumb does not wrap all the way around. I have to shoot the Anarchy and similar Bear gripped bows with the sticky rubber grip. Otherwise, I am constantly having to shift my hand at full draw to eliminate torque. Not the case at all with PSE or my wonderful Assault. Archers with full functioning knuckles/joints in their thumbs might not have the same issue I have with the Bear grip. It is a frustrating thing for me since everything else about those bows is a complete perfect combination of features in a near perfect Price for Performance value.
Would be a non-issue if Loesch hadn't decided to stop making grips :bash:

If you have a long draw go with the cpxl !
-
I go with the PSE pro line bows. The PSE DNA has the smoothest draw I have ever felt and the Omen is the fastest bow out there at 366 fps.

Nope, PSE dropped the brace a little more and named it the full throttle. 370fps, with a smoother draw then the omen from what I've read.
-
Wow. The brace height is kinda too short, really. The Omen was at five inches.

Must not shoot a lot of bows as I am not sure I would call the DNA a smooth bow. Even the DNA SP (Smooth Pull) puts it about the same as the Insanity and is 5 fps slower than the Insanity. Not sure I would call that smooth, but comparing PSE to PSE it definitely is smooth for a PSE ;) That new PSE limb cup is a nice improvement too  Quite a few good 350 fps bows available recently.
Speed isn't worth a five inch or less brace height. Unless you think it gives you an advantage in the "My wiener is bigger than yours" contest
-
I believe the omens brace is 5 1/2", the full throttle is 5 1/4" brace.

I believe you are correct.

no............
Too expensive. I refuse to pay over $500 for a bare bow. Thats even pushing it for me. I switched to a mission venture this year. I dont think there is a better bow out there for the money..

I actually never said that it was worth it. I actually shoot a bow that has a 7.5 inch brace height. It is only 302 fps. :yike: I haven't shot too many bows, but I have pulled back quite a few at our local pro shop. I was impressed with the Hoyts and the PSE's, but not Mathews and Bowtech. By the way, I like the Mathews draw. But the grip they have was designed for Paul Bunyan, and they don't seem balanced.
No offense intended. We all have our pet bow companies. :IBCOOL: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I agree 100% with that! I think the smoothness combined with the hype snags a lot of money from guys wallets each year. I have a number of friends that fall for it each year. Most are shooting a different bow within six months afterwards. It does mean that there are a lot of good used Mathews out there for sale each year ;)
-
You're right. I see a lot of Mathews bows out there at Craigslist and such. To be honest, my bow was built before PSE started with their slim grips. So I just pulled the screws and removed the grip. Now the grip is composed of black electrical tape. Very snazzy and stylish! :IBCOOL: :chuckle:

I've shot a lot of bows with just rod wrap on them. Although I did like the 2x4 grip on the old PSE Jet-Flite and Lazer-Flite. Whackmaster and I killed a lot of critters with those bows back in the late 80's early 90's before I went off to shoot for Hoyt.
-
I have been making my own grips with rod wrap for years. It's a must do for me to get a perfect fit and feel.
-
Yeah. Mine is a 2007 bow. I can't seem to part with it, though. It shoots straight, is deadly silent, no hand shock, although it isn't fast. The PSE Rogue. I love it. PSE service is awesome, too. Even though I was the second owner and it was 5 years old, they still fixed it for me when the limb bolts stripped out.
I like thin grips, so after a year of shooting it with the big grip, I threw it in a bag and grabbed the tape. :IBCOOL: :chuckle: :chuckle:
