Well I now have a greater respect for these tags. Its not as easy as it has been in the past. We still havnt seen anything worth shooting and time is starting to dwindle. Years in the past it has been farily easy to take folks out and find shooters but when its ur wifes tag its a lot harder, not sure why!

Tag

Stay positive, you never know when the big one will step out. Good luck.

Young buck and not even a consideration with a late tag. A couple days to go, hope it goes well.

hopes are high that you will have something to share....

Last day we could hunt las t couple of hours she shot a meat buck. With no book bucks spotted for the tag it was a tuff hunt and with the wife not being able to hike very far this is what we get. She made an awsome shot and I was proud of her passing up so many bucks just to shoot a small one. That happens with these tags you pass up alot of bucks to get that ONE, but sometimes it just doesnt work out.
-
Still a very nice buck. Any animal any hunt is a trophy in one way or another. Congrats to your wife on a beautiful buck. Freezers full.
-
Good for her. It may not seem like it by all the photos I post, but this has been the hardest fall I can remember for finding decent bucks. It was a tough year.
-
way to give it hell , still a nice buck
-
Congratz!! Nice Buck
-
Hunted everyday that you could.
That is what is awesome.

agreed!!!

Sometimes that is just the way it goes. Sounds like you gave it a great effort and at least were able to fill the tag. A lot of guys pass on deer throughout the hunt and on the last day can't find a buck of that caliber. Way to get it done at the very end.
-
this hunt being in my backyard there is always a local buck down low to fall back on!
-
I am heading over tonight for the late archery in Swakane, can I call you on the last day if I am in a bind? :chuckle: I would actually shoot that one day one with a bow.
I am planning on hunting my usual hotspot..... away from the road.
-
Nice buck!
-
Nice buck, I hope I can get one that nice with my late muzzy tag.
-
Nothing wrong with that buck, she did well in a tough year.
-
Fills the freezer congratulations
-
Congrats! Doesn't seem like many of the big boys were showing themselves this year. Good job filling your tag.
-
There was 1 buck in swakane cyn bedded on the hillside 1 day that a million folks drove by, he was a dandy but for some reason it didnt work out and he is still in there tending does. I will be back up there tomorrow taking hunters out for the late archery and I am sure i will get to see some of the bruisers the me and my wife missed, but thats hunting.
The problem with these tags is you tend to build it up and up inside dreaming of book bucks but when reailty sets in and its the 3rd week and still no deer it can get nerve racking!!! :)
-
Nice job. Congrats on the buck.

Were you able to corral that big guy? We saw one really nice one that seven different guys were going after from every angle, it got away as they almost always seem to. I was packing out my wife's doe while all of that commotion was going on.
I think we saw the same number of quality deer this year as in recent past but not the "legendary" amount that everyone seems to think are there. I think there was 20-30% less deer because of the weather and they keep shortening the season, ending it before all of the deer get pushed down even on good snow years. Tough hunt as always but we had opportunities for sure.

Congrats to you wife, Dang good buck for a freezer filler!
-
Congrats to Lady Antlerking!  Meat in the freezer and memories created... Sorry Mr. Big didn't step out for her!

Great buck
