sweet what are you using ?
Krocodile spoon in rainbow trout pattern. It's about 2.5 inches long and I was using 12 lb test lead core and 10lb test fluorocarbon top shot.
I was whackin em on Rapala X-Rap Countdown Friday. Attached photo, the big one is about 21".

Nice one.
I fish for them. Frog needle fish is about all I ever use.

Looks like a blast. What kind of depths are you targeting? Do most guys run leaded line or downriggers? I have never fished the big lake except for sockeye. I might have to take the family out to try for them when I get my kicker motor fixed!

Nice job Ray!

Most that I have caught in the last two weeks are about 20 feet down and in about 25-55 feet of water. A lot of guys use downriggers but I don't use those. I tried a homemade downrigger and it sucked. Then I tried a Luhr-Jensen Jet diver and it's pretty decent but when I used the lead core line I find it easier to fish with and I fight the fish not the diver. This little one in the attached photo was caught using a jet diver in deep water. Another technique I like is using a 2 oz lead banana on the end of some braid as a sliding weight, then put a long top shot to the lure.
Needlefish about 2.5 inches long with something white or brass colored also work well.

Cool. My brother makes some spinners that look very similar to the one in the picture. Do you prefer the sling blade over a standard kokanee dodger or does it seem to matter?
-
I don't think the dodgers are necessary but I do use them sometimes in deep water. I don't have a preference on them. The fish see real well.

Sweet looking fish!

Looks like fun! Nice going!

Looks like he was eating longfin smelt in this pic. Great baitfish to imitate when you're after the predators in Lk Wa, and it looks like the X Rap does a pretty good job at it. I use jigging spoons that look like smaller versions of these when fishing perch in deep water.

Did go out today and we were able to catch one ....on 1/2&1/2 dicknite with 1/2&1/2 dodger . Unoftunately we were unable to locate any bait so this was the only fish we caught. This guy had empty stomach and the takedown was similar to running train ....BAM .....
Beginning tomorrow there is 5 fish limit ...next time I'll try I-90  Good luck guys I'm having trout for dinner
-
Good stuff guys, how late into the winter does this fishery produce fish before you would quit trying for them. I have only fished it 1 time about 7 yrs ago. Is the perch fishing worth a shot this time of year?
-
Get over here and catch some walleye, nice catch
