Title: Tikka T3 action screws
Post by: bassquatch on November 05, 2013, 03:53:35 PM
Anyone else have an issue with these stripping easy (the heads not the threads)? I wanted to take mine apart now that the season is over and clean it thoroughly, the front screw came right out but the rear one fought me instantly, couldn't get traction on the head. I went up a size in Torx head and got it loose, same tightening it, had to finish with an allen wrench so it's not torqued perfectly which is ok for storage but I want it correct before another round goes down the tube! Torqued the front to 35in/lbs per Beretta but the rear is just snugged good. Used a FAT Wrench for torque tightening.

Anyone replace these with better screws? What did you use? I hate the Torx type heads, I prefer either allen style, flathead or Philips....Thanks!
