I was drawn for an antlerless tag in deer area 1010 and until yesterday I didn't realize that it excluded the national forest lands, so my question is, is there any public land in that area to hunt? I have been there a few times but mostly in the umatilla forest so not sure about the lower area that is open for my tag, any help would be appreciated. I'm not looking for a trophy antlerless deer or anyones spot just to put some meat in my freezer.
Thank You.

I screwed up a few years ago and did the same thing... Call that regions office and they will give you some lan owner info that will help you out

Hatley Gulch. Lots of FFTH land once you get on top and it flattens out. Shooting a doe should not be an issue.

Thanks Woodchuck that's what I was hoping for, I checked the go hunt map but only saw one ffth spot and it shows right along hwy 12.
AdamR thanks that is a good idea but I don't think I would feel right contacting landowners this close to the hunt nov 8-18 next time I will look a little closer before I apply but I usually just see not selected anyway.

Call wdfw and talk to a biologist. He'll give you the numbers to a couple diff people. Steve Thorn and bob hutchenson. They are huge wheat field farmers. They let anyone hunt it. Just need permission to hunt. They have maps and good locations. Do it soon, cause it took them about a week or so to get back to me. They're located off the Skyline rd near the gultch rd. Cant remember which one. They helped me with my doe tag.
