Title: CDC (Center for Disease Control) Health Survey
Post by: EWUEAGLESHUNTER on November 10, 2013, 09:45:58 PM
So the CDC is currently conducting a national health survey. I was contacted recently by the Washington Department of Health who is conducting the survey in our state for the CDC. Wanting to fulfill a civic duty, I opted to participate in this 45 minute long "Health Survey" Or so I thought it was just a health survey. About 30 minutes into the survey I was asked a series of gun questions. " Do you currently own any guns?, Do you currently have guns in your home? Currently are one or more of your guns loaded? Are all your guns locked and secured? My question is, why is the CDC and Washington Department of Health asking about guns in a health survey? Since when is gun ownership linked to disease control? Or even public health for that matter? The more I think about it the more it bothers me.

What was your response, and how did they react?

One of the many reasons why no one in my household talks to the STATE without my presence.

Not realizing where the questions were heading I responded "yes" to the first question. The next question I asked the guy why they are asking these questions and he said he is just paid to ask the questions and does not know why. So I told him I would not answer that question and said the same for the rest of the gun questions.

Those questions were part of the legislation (executive action) after the Sandy Hook tragedy. If Obama and law makers are trying to Label gun violence as a disease. Some are worried that if they can sell this concept to the people that if you have ever had counseling or had to take a Prozac then you are not going to be able to own a firearm.

I would go so far as guess that this whole "survey" is designed around the gun questions and the other questions are just fluff to hide the real agenda.

I don't consider it my "civic duty" to answer any questions from the government other than the few that are legally required every ten years for the census. No good can come from any government entity poking around in a private citizens business.

Maybe its an Obamacare issue.  Like tobacco for example increases your premium. :dunno: It is one way they can regulate/tax or discourage guns by arguing gun homes are a higher health risk?  Either way its bad mojo.

There was a fairly large portion of this survey designated towards questions involving depression. In fact they asked some of the same questions at the beginning as they did at the end centered around depression. As I said before, the more I think about it the more it bothers me. I am however, glad that I took the survey so I could tell people about it. There are people out there who think that this is perfectly normal stuff, and completely ok for the government to be doing.

This may be a violation of 2 or more applicable federal laws under the Affordable Care Act.

I don't believe the current administration would let a law stand in its way of prosecuting an agenda. Their motive seems to be to push as hard as they can for as long as they can until pursuing it further becomes politically unworkable. And just who would stand up against them...the Republicans?

There is such a thing as an injunction. A group like NRA-ILA or CCRKBA might be a place to start.

Same reason the prenatal questionaire asks about it. It all goes in a database somewhere. Quick question if you feel fearfull of what your government is doing with this information do we really have freedoms any more. Check out the movie THE AGENDA, it is eye opening.

Yea, I know. There's also subpenas, impeachments, filibusters, etc. I was expressing a general frustration that we seem to see these legal maneuvers being applied to try to correct government intrusion and misdeeds and it never seems to make any difference in the end. It just keeps getting worse. It speak well for groups like the NRA that has the funds and the talent to resist 2nd amendment intrusions but I don't have a lot of faith that we not see some major 2nd amendment  restrictions in the future.

Sorry, maybe I'm just a "glass half empty" kind of guy.

They do what they want and if we stop them they go around the obstacle and continue. :bash:  Our rights eroded and we fight it but have we really stopped it?  More specific what has Obama been stopped from doing?  I cant think of one?  2nd amendment be damned-its just a piece of paper to them.  We know they violate it and data collect whatever they want.  NSA ring a bell?  The huge data storage building built recently in Virginia(I think thats where) had people talking.  Forgotten now.  Whats it for?  NSA?   2 forms of Fed. Gov. exist, the public and the secret.  Deny one to further agendas of the other while protecting themselves.

Quadrafire

I think you were headed in the right direction. They have my phone number so really how unanimous can it be? Not that it will do a whole lot of good, but my wheels are turning, I might send an email or two out to my local and state reps. Since this survey was being ran by Washington Department of Health but overall being coordinated by the CDC maybe representatives at the State and Federal level should be notified?
