Has anyone hunted GMU 578 during Nov. 22-30. I drew a special permit during this time. All I have read is that king mountain and quigley butte is good places to hunt. I did scout around quigley and find some fresh rubs. But don't know if that is a good area to stick around, come Nov. 22-30.

That is a great tag!! Lots of area to hunt in that unit and with the rut you should have an awesome hunt.
Good luck and I hope you have fun. would love to have that tag in my pocket :)

Thanks good to know.

Had the tag last year and killed a little three point, my first deer with a bow. The rut will be winding down by then so it makes it pretty tough to get within bow range. I actually spotted my buck and grunted it in with my mouth. If you are expecting a slam dunk you are going to be disappointed, this tag should not be a quality tag, IMO there are better general season areas to hunt. PM me if you'd like and I can help a little more.

Lots of private land to get those benchlegs on... You should have been door knockin earlier this year with that tag. But, up by GrayBack Mt... once the snows are half way down Mount Adams, hunt the trails coming from the foothills to the north. Don't expect that rut to be over with by the 22nd.

Grey back is 388, not 578. There is plenty of public land in 578
