Hi Forum,
Mom and I just bought my Dad a new rifle... a Sako Finnlight 85 in .300 winmag. Haven't given it to him yet, but he's been drooling over this one for a long time...
I was wondering if any of the reloaders around here had any experience firing this gun and could recommend some loads.
I've been shooting 180gr Accubonds out of my Tikka, so we have a box of those I'd like to use. Any recommended loads for that bullet out of this gun?
Thanks a ton!!

I run the 180 accubonds in all my 300's. I also run the 180g eips from time to time and dangerous game. I would try the accubonds and go from there. You will be happy with the finnlight  I am a huge sako buff and tikka as well.

Its hard to go wrong with a accubond in most anything. 180 grain would be great in 300 win. Even 200 grain for that matter.

I use Winchester SXP 180gr, My Sako 75 Finnlight just loves these.

My 75 300WSM loved 180 Winchester XP3's, it hate's Federal 165 partition's. It now runs Hornady 180 interbonds with Re17. I couldn't find anything for my Sako RUM in 180 that worked well. Rebarreled with a Benchmark and now it shoots 180 Accubonds with Retumbo extremely well.

Great rifle, give the Accubonds a try.

Optilock or Leupold.

I will pretend to be your uncle, if you. It me a Finnlight in 243 !!
Great choice on rifle. My 300 WSM shots 180 Accubonds well. It did not like the 200 gr Accubonds.

Just put a set of pic-rail mount Leupold rings on my .22-250 Encore barrel. They're pretty dang sweet. First time I've used any of their rings that aren't the dual dovetails.

I also use Leopold rings

Go Leupold
