I was looking at yeti coolers the other day. I think they would come in handy if you were remote for an extended period of time. Does anyone one here have one and whats your experience with them?

I took one to elk camp on Oct 31st.  I'm back home now and emptied all the contents except the remaining ice.  I'm seeing how much longer it will hold.  It's still about half there.  I went out with 3 blocks of ice in the cooler.  If I count correctly I'm on day 16 of the ice.  They do hold temperature well.

Would be nice to have one. You would have to chain it up in the back of your rig so I didn't wonder off. Very pricey cooler to
loose.

I was really skeptical that it would justify the price, but I think it's one of the best purchases I've made.  They really do hold in the cold way better.  That may not seem like a big deal, after all you can buy a lot of ice for the extra $3-400.  But you'd be surprised how handy that is.  Your stuff gets less soggy.  You can go on extended trips without having to make ice runs.  For shorter trips, less ice required leaves more room for fish, groceries, etc. 

A couple recent examples:  I drove 14 hours from Wyoming with coolers filled with frozen/butchered antelope - the Yeti meat was still frozen solid when I got home.  The other coolers had started to melt, leaking blood on the packaging.  I spent the fourth of July in Yakima in 90 degree heat - one bag of ice kept the kids' milk cold for four days outside in the Yeti.

I think the Yeti Coolers are great.  Just really enjoyed this advertisement.  The Pelican gun cases I have used have been quality products as well.

:yeah: cause a few people beleive that if it isnt tied to your femur its public property  :chuckle: i would like to have a cou[ple of the biggest ones thats for sure  :tup:
