I bought a CVA Elkhorn Pro about two years ago and have been pleased with it, but the trigger pull is pretty bad. Especially when I go from the Timney in my .300WM which I have turned down to around 2.5 lbs. So I emailed CVA last week to see if there was anything I can do about lightening the trigger pull. The triggers are not externally adjustable and require a special jig (or lots of patients and some clever work arounds from what I read) to reassemble. I was thinking they would tell me to send the trigger (or whole rifle) to them and they would work on it and send it back to me a month later. Well I got a reply back from them that offered no explanation just contained a UPS tracking #. I checked out the tracking number and waited for the package to get here. Well it came in yesterday and inside was new complete trigger assembly. We'll see how the trigger pull on the new one is tonight, but if it is even a little better I will be very impressed. Very long winded post, but so far I have had nothing but good experiences with CVA and wanted to share this experience. I will post up a review of the new trigger.

For sure going to a be a big difference :chuckle: Both of mine are pretty normal for muzzleloaders. I have been pretty happy with mine and I am a trigger snob :chuckle:

I put the new trigger in last night and without being able to actually shoot it, it does feel a little better. It wasn't as light as I was hoping but maybe after shooting it a few times it will get better. I am still pretty impressed with CVA customer service though, but I wish the trigger was easily adjusted. Being able to get a trigger job done would be really nice.

I used the contact page on their website. They were very quick to respond. Although the response I got back was from BPI Outdoors, which is the parent company who owns CVA.
