first of all, I do not have a copy of my hunting regs; and the computer I am on eeks out whenever you try to pull up anything involving adobe (what the regs are), so I figure there is no harm in asking.
with that said, ive been itching for a fox pelt and would be willing to give it a try....
I live in Anacortes and remember as a kid seeing fox everywhere.... haven't seen any in years, but I know of islands that are full of them.....
can I even shoot a fox?
I have a sweet cz 452 mannlicher with a 3x12x50 barska scope (cheap; but works) chambered in 17hmr....... would that even work? or should I bust out my 30/30? as far as islands with out firearm restrictions, cypress island allows rifles... its the only one that does....
id love some input

Page 70 of the regs: Fox season Sep 1, 2013 to Mar 15, 2014. No bag limit. I'd use the 17 HMR. :twocents:

Cypress Island is GMU 417.
GMU 410 Islands, EXCLUDING Orcus, San Juan, , Lopez, Shaw, Blakely, Decatur, and Cypress Islands.
GMU 411 ORCUS
GMU 412 SHAW
GMU 413 SAN JUAN
GMU 414 LOPEZ
GMU 415 BLAKELY
GMU 416 DECATUR
GMU 417 CYPRESS
All red print in regs, is this a change this year??????
FIREARM RESTRICTED AREAS
All San Juan county, including GMU 411, 412, 413, 414, 415, AND 416 are fireamarm restricted areas.
All mainland areas and islands, including GMU 419, in Skagit County west of I-5 and north of the Skagit/Snohomish County line, except Cypress Island. This restriction applies to big game hunting only.
Gotta love the "Big Game Regulations" as much as the "Fishing Regs".

Heyo thanks guys, yeah, I found my copy of the regs when I got home today....
So yeah, kinda screwy about the firearm restriction being for "big game" only... Doesn't make much sense that I can use say my 30/30 for coyotes, but not for deer...
