I'm looking into picking up a new release. I like the looks of the tru fire hardcore and was thinking about testing one out later this week. Anyone shoot this release? Currently I shoot a Scott archery release and really like it but the hardcore looks like it has potential.
Thanks,
Drew

I have one, Love it. I used a Scott little goose before it was good but the tru fire blows it away with smoothness and adjust-ability. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

excellent. Thanks for the input.

I would check out the carter line, I feel they are the best out there

I much rather shoot a scott , I'd just find the one that works best for you , but i'd make sure the head swivels

Doesn't happen very often but people have had the connecting ring break. Weak point in that design IMO. For the price of that release I think there are better options available. In my opinion Truball short and sweet, and spot hogg wise guy are much better choices for around the same price. But that's just me, you may like the trufire better.

I tried the spot hogg wise guy but the darn thing is just to bulky for me. Never heard of the broken ring issue but good to know.

Drew, I've had mine for awhile now love it I really like the offset with the hook it improved my shooting ( tighter groups) shoot it before you buy it.

Tru-Fire was acquired by Faradyne Outdoors (Rage, Muzzy, Nockturnal) I believe back in August. Will be interesting to see if there are any quality changes. I've never been much of a Spott Hogg, Tru-Fire or Scott fan. But I am watching this very close as many of the products Faradyne has acquired improved greatly afterwards. I think only the Nockturnal brand went backward after acquisition and from what I hear they are taking steps to fix that.

Good to know Jason. I'll for sure be trying a few out to see what fits. How do you like the trigger adjustments? I can adjust the resistance of the trigger on my Scott release but not the trigger travel like you can on the Hardcore.

I like mine a lot. Like the tuning and adjustability. I like the hook style over the caliper type hands down.
The only annoyance with mine is the trigger reset function. You have to pull the trigger to get it to reset and if all isn't right, it doesn't fully reset. I've long since got into the habit of reaching up with my thumb and setting the hook with pressure.
Something to think about.

I bought H/C MAX this year and love it. I switch from Scott to TruFire. It really helped with my groups.
