Title: late season bow help
Post by: leonpeon2 on November 18, 2013, 06:33:22 PM
I will be hunting the bow late season. hunting blacktail.   I will be in the 636 skok, or 633 mason hunting on the late opener. i have wed the 26- sunday dec 1 to hunt.
i have done some scouting and know a few good areas.
i am pretty sufficient up to 50-60 yards with my bow.

My questions are

What kind of calls do i use if any? i have about 5
would a buck bomb do me any good?
would putting out some corn/feed and sit on it work best?
i know the rut it over now but would rattling some horns do anything for me?

I am pretty patient when it comes to sitting and also i can do a lot of hiking if needed. i just want to put the favor in my corner and hopefully get a good size buck and have extra time to chase a few elk.

Late archery doesn't open until the 27th

#1 rattling, maybe a doe estrus call
#2 Buck bombs NEVER work, especially on blacktail
#3 No corn.  If you're going to bait, use apples or alder boughs but alders are a no go right now
#4 See #1

Just my opinion
