This was my first year running trail cameras. I had 3 of them out at any one time with 5 total. I pulled a couple of them out of where they were for the winter but I'm going to find a place and put them back out somewhere else. I had a lot of fun with this hobby this summer and it's quite addicting. They were in central Washington(public land) and Southeast Washington(private land). I'm not going to post all the pictures I got for various reasons...mostly out of respect for others.
I started in June and took the last ones out on modern deer opening weekend. First we put cameras out for a friend's quality bull archery Observatory hunt in Central Washington. Some of you might remember Fanatic's thread.
We had several 6 point bulls on 1 camera. On another we had a bunch of spikes, cows and calves along with a few deer and a bear or 2.

This bull would come to be known to us as the G4 bull. Easy to ID because of his nice 4's.

He never left all summer and into the season. In fact he got his picture taken on September 3rd which was opening day of archery season. We couldn't hunt there as it was inside the fire closure perimeter.
Boo.....

Had to wipe the drool of the screen. Nice bulls there. So where do I need to put in for that tag :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle: Btw I have a eastern archery tag so if you need a spike taken care of or it is a antlerless area. I can take care of that for you.
-
More Blues farm country critters
-
One of my favorite bulls.
-
Theres some awesome bulls in this thrend  Nice pics
-
Some dandy critters. Where you running a solar panel or 6v battery on them. That's great battery life to get that long of soak on them.
-
A few more.
The velvet coming off.
-
A few more.
Sorry if I'm overdoing it. I'm addicted..
:chuckle: :chuckle:
I think this is all the same bull.
-
This guy came out of nowhere in October.

WOW - Thanks for those.
-
Last of the deer
More deer...hope they get a chance to grow up.
-
Matt- just 8 AA batteries in each camera. They're at 3/4 charge still now.
-
wow that is impressive. I just got some new cams and really love them. My cousins would chew threw 4 c batteries in about 2 weeks but they were also taking about 6k pictures in that time frame, so that might have to do something with it. The cold I think brings them down as well.
These new A5 are supposed to do 8k+ pics with 4c's I am at about 5k on them now and they seem to be doing fine.
-
Thanks for sharing! Did the bulls tear down that shack.....
-
That's an old homestead site. The wood stove and bed frame is still there. The orchard is just off to the left in the pictures. Cool place with a nice view.
-
Couple more. Lions and another bear.

Jackelope, which model of Bushnell camera is that of your later pictures you showed?
-
Great season!! Got another couple months of good "hunting"??

I've got 2 different Bushnell camera modelss and I can't remember which one it is. I bought the 2 at Walmart.com for $89. each. I think they're the 5mp Trail Sentry but I can't remember off hand. I'll look when I get home. The first pics are from the 3-5-8mp Bushnell demo models we got online.
-
Josh since you aren't hurting for cash can you try out the Reconyx and see how you like it. I am curious about the trigger speed and detection distance.
-
What are you using for bait for your cams? Seems to work great.
-
Nice pics josh, couple of those bulls I would have no problem putting my 19 points on! You need to put a stand inside that old homestead !!! Thanks for all the pics!

Magic.. :chuckle:
-
That would be a great place for a lion bait this winter...perfect location!!
-
I wish it was not so far from home. That would be cool to try.
-
How far away from you? Reason I ask is once you stake your bait out it takes a while, so if you check it once a week or so then that is perfect. It's not something you need to check every day or even every few days. Once they hit it then you could set up a pop up blind or fashion a blind in the ruins of the old house. You would kill a cat for sure. Once the birds find the bait, they make a lot of noise which in turns brings that yotes in and eventually the cats. In that spot you could almost be certain to notch your tag. Use a goat, sheep or llama.
-
Fred- it's +/- 250 miles from home. We make 4-6 trips a year, mostly family trips and mostly not in the winter. Thanks for the ideas but I can't get over there that often.
