I was told this buck was taken in Capitol Forest. I'm thinking more like Oregon. Curious if anyone knows the story. Regardless that is one heck of a buck. Congrats go whoever got him!

What a gorgeous blackie, very wide! Capital forest seems like a bit of a stretch though. :twocents:

Very doubtful that buck is from Capitol Forest. They just don't get that wide around here. I'm not saying it's not, because I don't know, but I would bet money that it wasn't killed within 100 miles of Capitol Forest.

That's funny. I have that same pic. My buddy sent it to me. I was told it was from his old coworkers buddy and it was from western wa. but I was pretty skeptical when he told me where. I'm thinking klickitat. Where ever it was taken it is a beauty!
-
Depends on who ya heard it from :chuckle: could be an OR hybrid :dunno: But the scenery and cape looks Wash. Could be from any unit in coastal washington, seen a couple over the years like that in areas where dinks are the norm :twocents:
-
Man that's a dream blacktail!
-
I heard of three large bucks coming out of the CF this last weekend. One supposedly had a droptine. I also got a pic of a piebald buck taken near Porter.
The buck in the pic above is a monster and would be surprised if it really was from around here.
-
That buck was killed in the St. Helens tree farm. Buddy got pic of it from a friend Killed at the end general
-
Its obvious that that buck was killed on a hill side in a clear cut. next to a stump. I solved the mystery :IBCOOL:
-
Sounds like that buck had nine lives and nine deaths at different locations.
-
You guys are all wrong, that is definitely a Vail buck..... That's a small one for up there.
-
I also have the pic from a friend that came from a friend of a friend.... I've also been had other friends show it to me. Every story has been different.... Very nice buck
-
That picture was floating around 2 years ago. Oregon buck, as I recall... at least that was 2 years ago's version of the story.
About all we can say for sure is that the picture was taken since the invention of color photography.

Solid translation of this thread. Well done

I'm so sick of these BS rumors of big bucks floating around, EVERY DAMN YEAR. That is not a capitol forest buck. not 100% sure but I'd be willing to bet it's not even western WA.
-
There is no way that the buck was taken in the CP.
Come on guys, pull your heads out! Where are all the salal brush picker rubber bands laying around? The trash? The missed whole clay pigeons? Wolf ammo boxes, worn out childrens clothing and mountain bike tire tracks!? You guys are getting forgetful!!!

:yeah: the clean scenery is less believable than the monster buck.
That is a benchleg if I've even seen one, mule deer all over him (more like all over his great grandma)
-
That is a muley. doubt Capital Forest I spent a lot of time up there. Saw some impressive rubs in Grays Harbor County but no sight of the buck.
-
Saw this from a co-worker who said his buddy shot this the Friday of the late buck season up in CF. I don't know, I have seen some nice bucks in CF, but you never know.
