We are saying good bye to our 10 year old lab today, we are taking her in to ease her pain and ours. I trained KC from when we got her as a pup, she got her first grouse up in Wilkeson. We had 3 beautiful, smart and very loving litters from her. She was my first dog that was mine, she was taken from us far too soon. A car accident left her in pain the past week and she just isn't going to pull through. This is really hard on my wife and daughter, probably one of my worst days as well. She always loved beer, so this last photo is her last beer with me. Gonna miss you KC! We love you for loving us. Could someone turn my photos? Thank you very much, I won't add anymore.

:( that's one of the hardest things to have to do! Sorry for the loss of a family member, may you stay strong and get through what needs to be done.
-
Sorry for your loss, great looking animal. I am sure she was a great companion. :sry:

Rough Day. Remember the good times. This is the toughest part of being a pet owner, but you have to do what is best for your pet.

Sorry to hear, it is one of the hardest decisions to make.
I turned your picture for you so we can see her better.

Thank you and thanks for the kind words.

So Sorry..... :'(

Sorry to hear. Got me all choked up just thinking about.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.
I know how you feel, I was devastated when I lost my first lab Hemi. It took a toll on the whole family, not just me :cryriver:

Same here. I have such a soft spot for labs and dogs in general. I have two dogs at the moment and can't imagine how hard it is going to be. My parents have an older lab who is starting to decline and she was my hunting dog for years. Going to be a sad day when she goes.
Good luck with the process and I am sure the good memories will be with your family for the rest of your lives.

I'm sorry about this, Trophyhunt. It's terribly hard to do the right thing with your dog. :sry:

Sorry to hear this :sry:

No easy way to get this done. It sucks, it is painful on the heart, as long as you are sure it is the right thing for her you will feel better in the long run. I know your situation and feel your pain. Sorry to hear.

Sitting here with the wife after we buried our KC in the back yard. Having a couple whiskey waters to numb the pain. I read my wife the comments you guys have posted and started the waterfall again, thank you. She doesn't understand why I'm always on here but I think she might have just a bit of understanding now, thanks for that! I have never met most of you but why do I feel so much like I have, again I want to thank you for the words and for the guys who keep this site up and going. I don't think we all know what it takes to keep this site up and running, I sure don't. But I really appreciate the connections (friends) it produces. God bless and thanks again. Love you KC

Sorry Man...

We think we are able to handle most anything as men; macho and not to emotional. I went through the same experience that you had today and I cried at the vets and teared up for days after. As others have suggested, enjoy the memories of good times with your friend.

Rudyard Kipling's Poem "Power of the Dog" pretty much says it all...

lost my 14 year old chocolate last year and this post definitely brought back some memories. So sorry to hear about this.
-
So Sorry It is never easy.
-
So sorry to hear that trophyhunt. I know exactly what your going through. Me and my family went through the same thing with our 14 year old Yellow Lab last year. The hardest thing we ever had to do. Remember and enjoy the good times.

Thanks again for the words. I thought being at work today would help me think about other things, I was wrong. Damn this hurts, our hearts are truly broke. Much harder than I ever thought it could be, damn we miss her.

The worst part about owning dogs is the simple fact that we will outlive many of them. It's never easy, and they are never replaced. However, there is always a new one waiting to come into your life.
