Not good.
Pretty much was hunted out many years ago.
There are almost no grouse on our peninsula.... almost.
I mean, there are a few birds, but it will take you forever to find 'em.
I've only seen 2 birds my whole life on kitsap peninsula.
You would have much better luck crossing the hood canal, or going south past shelton.

I agree with bigluke. There are very few grouse here in kitsap and north mason county. Very few quail as well. Just not a bird hunters paradise.

Thanks for the replies. was hoping could find some closer to home thanks .....

While certainly not a lot of them, the pheasant hunters used to get a few when they had release sites off of Sand hill rd. and Used Car rd. We got one while out scouting for deer on a gated road off of Sand hill a few years back.
Take the boy out you might get lucky, either way it should be a good time. May as well enjoy it while it is all still free to hunt :twocents:.
