Anyone been up that way lately? Wondering what the weather/snow level is. Late season next week!!!! :IBCOOL:
-
Gonna be cold and clear with crisp walking and silent morning air. Be very very quiet.
-
It snowed a week ago but mostly melted there's some patchy crunchy stuff, starts to get a little less patchy around 4000'

DRock, where you camping??
From looking at Weatherunderground for Natches Thursday and Friday and through the weekend is calling for snow. GOOD NEWS!
-
Set up on clover springs rd before the big on the left before the big meadow. We will have the c-post sign out. :chuckle:
-
We've got a cabin on Nile RD. We'll be up there, hunting in stands for the first couple days. Pray for snow. PUSH EM ALL DOWN! late hunt two years ago was epic with the big snow.
Good luck, the bucks should still be in rutt ( :
-
Yep
-
Sounds good my fam and myself will be camping just inside the meadow on the right side where the little cutoff rd is. Im in a white tundra with the Desert Fox toyhauler.
-
See you guys at some point.
-
Well we bagged it, no snow unless you go as high as possible not a whole lot of sign and very few elk. We only seen about 25-28 elk since the opener and 20 were in one group yesterday. Only seen 1 cow hanging and a couple bucks. For deer it was a good yr but we were all tagged out.
-
Well we had a good year dad tagged a buck opening day got 2 cows later in hunt and had two guys in camp that missed elk.
-
Saw D-Rock and Mxracers' camps but didn't stop 'cause no one was there when I went by. The only elk I saw hanging was in D-rock's camp and the one in ours. I bailed on Friday after freezing my butt off for a week and not seeing any elk on the hoof.
-
We had a great time. We started lower and after 2 days found the Elk everyday. While we did not get any shots we had some great mornings trying to get close enough.
Finally had 2 walk within 20 yards but both were hug Bulls. Saw 4 or 5 Deer total but only one shooter.
-
We put out the c-post sign outside of our camp.
-
:o hug bulls :dunno: is that similar to the hug monster on here??? :dunno: :chuckle:

These! You guys never see these hunting? There all over the Nile area.
You guys must be new. Lol

:chuckle:
I saw the two big bulls (5x5 and 6x6) down low and loads of muleys. 4 pt, 3 pt, spike, and quite a few does. Not the cow I was looking for.
-
We seen more elk in this late season than in the past 10 years. We ended up getting 2 cows. Prior to the snow even we saw them everywhere. Maybe we were just lucky.
Cant wait til next year! :chuckle:

Kinda slow around the 1600 rd. We found elk elsewhere in the unit.
-
Suprised at how many people say they seen alot of elk. I went all over the unit and really didnt see much. Seen a few really nice bucks tho.

Top of the 250 was good the first 2 days! ;) Till all the folks started driving thru on the Jeep road from the 1671.

The last 4 days of the season were stellar for our group. We found elk in pretty much every pocket that we expected to. Some beautiful bulls wandering around. The migration was definitely in process at that point with more elk showing each day. Up until then, it was pretty much a deer only show in the areas we focus. The arctic blast was like throwing a switch. Better late than never.
