So,
I am hoping that you guys can give me some ideas. Each year my in laws draw names from a hat and do a gift exchange. We get a 25 dollar budget. We'll this year, I drew my brother in law and the guy seems to have everything. I am hoping for some ideas from all of you fishing addicts. He really likes salmon, steelhead and walley fishing.
Any ideas?

That is kind of fun...
Clearview floats
Does he pour his own jigs?
Does he tie is own jigs?
If he does you can buy him some quality jig heads or some tying material.
You can get a subscription to steelhead trout salmon magazine

A bunch of corkies
Spoons/flashers/down rigger parts

Unless you know exactly what he uses, avoid buying him gear. I get stuff every year from my family that I will never use, a gift card to sunbirds or cabelas would be of much greater use. Fisherman tend to be pretty picky about their gear, if they are serious about the sport.

What about buying him his fishing license or a gift card are my 2 opinions

Some #3 and #4 spinners and spoons. As many as you could buy for $25. Which is probably only going to be about 5 or 6.

Look at havalon knives. It's a surgical ccompany that started making hunting and fishing knives. The blades are the sharpest I've ever seen and replaceable. The knife comes with a 10 pack. I use mine for everything hunting and fishing. I dont even use my filet knife anymore.
I have the piranta and I think it runs about $30. Buy one.for.yourself while your at it!

Snoop through his steelhead gear. If he drifts then he may use a lot of corkies and such. A bag full of corkies or hooks is a great gift and one that he will use. I can not stress enough a bag full of the small stuff is price less!
This remind me of something that happened to me several years ago. A gal I was dating daughter really wanted to get me something I would use for my birthday. So she decided on fishing gear. I have long ago used the stuff up but, the bag full of corkies, yarn, and hooks was one of the best most thought out presents anyone has ever got me.
Also the Havalon is a great choice.
