So on the weekends I load up my labs wake up my daughter and I normally go get a cup of coffee she gets a chocolate milk. Then we do a little puddle jumping for ducks. This morning she says to me dad I don't want to shoot anything on thanksgiving can we just go for a drive instead. I said ok but let me grab a gun just incase and she pleads with me saying no you'll shoot something. Knowing better I agree and we go for a drive running the labs some. Saw several mallards in a few ponds, a herd of elk, and on the way back I pass a coyote standing on a spur road. I turn around and pull right into the spur road with this coyote just standing there at about 10yds. He starts to move a little and I whistle and he stops. He just stands there for the longest time and then walks to about 15yds from my truck standing looking out from a small reprod tree. When I left he was still standing there. One stupid but lucky coyote. Now I'm kicking myself for not grabbing a gun or at least one of my pistols. I knew better but my daughter with a smile on her face says dad it was just a little one and I don't want you to kill it on thanksgiving. Ugh!!!!!!! Kids!!!!!!! but she's a good kid!!!!

Coyotes eat Turkeys on Thanksgiving, don't they? :chuckle:

They aren't as dumb as they look. I've seen coyotes sitting right out in the open, and by the time I got a round in the chamber, he was gone! :chuckle:

Worked for mine too. She wants us to specifically go after the yotes to help all of her other furry friends in the woods.

my daughter who is 15 now, beleives we should kill all animals no matter what if they hurt baby deer or baby elk or if they chase rabbits or her house cats or her puppy, of course it was alot cuter coming from a little girl. i was the best dad in the worl when i saved "BIG LOU" are cat. from the would ravashing from a local coyote, i made a sweet running shot on him with the trusty 06. my baby girl was happy with her dear old dad :chuckle:
