Title: Traditions Strikerfire & Thor Bullets test
Post by: MountainDevil54 on November 30, 2013, 10:09:01 AM
Finally got out today with the Traditions Strikerfire and the 250gr Ballistic Tip Thors, Many many weeks - a month ago I had figured out how to size the Thors to larger diameter as I only had the .500" Thor and the Strikerfire wanted the .502" Thor.

Using an 8mm 3/8" socket and a very small light hammer, I put that socket into the hollow dish of the Thor and lightly tapped, measured, tapped a couple more times and resized it up to .502" and they fit like a glove. I did a total of 15 of them before I decided that was enough to get some testing in the books.

Using 100 grains Blackhorn209, CCI 209 Magnum primers and shooting at 50 yards. Didn't have to touch the scope at all.

First shot to the far left was with a very light coating of Birchwood Casey Barricade I had applied to the bore before leaving on vacation 2 weeks ago. Its nice to see that it did not throw it off that much. The next 3 were Money!
