Scott King in Wenatchee does good work. Biesen's in Spokane is probably one of the best!

what kind of stock?  solid wood or laminate?  the solid wood stocks checker pretty well, but the laminate ones tend to fuzz and dull checkering tools at an accelerated pace.

Sherry at http://www.checkering.com/ (http://www.checkering.com/) has a great reputation.  not sure if Roger Biesen is doing checkering now or not.  His daughter Paula is a whiz with engraving tools, but again, not sure if she checkers.

i have a boyds laminate that i plan on stippling.  gonna use a ball cutter on my dremel.  saw a guy do it on knife handles and it's super cool!
