Title: GMU 667 Access points
Post by: Sasquatch338LM on December 09, 2013, 06:20:38 PM
Hey everyone,

Couple of buddies and I are looking to do some hunting in GMU 667 . Just seeing if anyone knows of any access points outside the Centrailia area .

Were kinda hoping for spring turkey or some good coyote land .

Thanks

Wait! Hold on! Duckmen1- so you are saying the Vail Tree Farm is open to everyone from January 1st to July 31st? That is not the way I understood it. I thought the tree farm was 100% closed at that time of the year. Am I wrong?

My permit only covers august thru December. Unless there is no access period for the rest of the year. I know for sure there is no drive in access the rest of the year.
Good question

Thanks guys for the replies, helps us out. We kinda figured we would be dancing around the tree farms. Besides restricted lands are there any state land roads out that way worth looking at.

We were thinking on hitting the south side of capital forest for coyotes also.  Its close to home for us and a easy day trip. We were thinking the D line or Bordeaux RD access. Anybody here think its worth a try. Everyone says capital forest is dead and to many junkies. But i also hear that S to SW side is worth a shot.

Bobcat,
You can walk in the Vail unit during the non-permit months.

Yes, I realize that now. Before I had thought the permit was required year around. So basically you can walk in there without a permit but only when there's nothing open to hunt.   :chuckle:
