Decided I wanted to make a hunt in the freezing weather saturday and try and fill my doe tag. I got dressed in at least 5 layers and headed to my blind at 2:30 pm. Got settled and took my hat off to cool down from the hike in. Saw a squirrel, then immediately a good sized doe walks out into the open at 29 yards. I quickly make the determination that she will be a tasty addition to my freezer and draw with her broadside. I shoot and hear the telltale hollow sound of a lung shot. My cousin whi was with me said it was a great shot. We wait 5 minutes and walk up to find the arrow completely covered in freeze dried blood! Almost pink and chalky looking. Pick up the trail and find the deer 30 yards away. Got it back to the truck by 3:00 pm. :chuckle: had to be one of my quickest hunts. My buck in sept was just over an hour sit and this was very short also. I'm becoming spoiled. :tung: forgot a pic till we were almost at the truck :sry:
Had bbq tenderloins at 430!
