Granite falls sportsman's club will be hosting its 1st 3-D archery shoot of the year Sunday January 19th 2014. Last year we had around 100 shooters so I would like to beat that this year. So I'm laying down the challenge to hunt wa members get a group together and come out and shoot! We will have door prizes at the end of the shoot for those who stick around.
-
sounds fun!
-
Drock my daughter and I have never shot at a range always in the back yard what's it like.
-
Its a 30 target walk through course pretty easy walking my 3 year old can walk it.
-

It's a ton of fun. I'll be there again. Looking forward to it and trying to get my wife out there this time.
-
I'm going to get an award for the highest hunt wa score turned in.
-
I would like to do this and bring my 4 year son with me...
-
Gonna be any food there D Rock? Hot Chilli? Hot Dogs? Hot Coffee?
-
I may have to try to make it. Nota great shooter yet.

all of the above.
-
Sounds like fun but with the impending goose season coming up, I will need to be out smacking a few of those.
-
Yeah waterfowl and football games will hurt the shoots attendance I'm sure but I will have the big screen up and running with football games on.
-
I have been wanting to do one of these, what are the basic rules?
-
Come shoot have fun be safe. That's all the rules I require for this shoot. I have shooting stakes set at each target so everyone shoots from same location. This will be just a fun shoot with some awards and door prizes.
-
can you use range finders? or do you have to guess, like I said I have never done one.
-
This will just be a fun shoot for us so range finders are fine.

I'll be working on range next weekend since my deer tag is filled now.

Are there backstops behind the targets or do I need to bring lots of arrows.

That's a good one :chuckle: Loosing arrows is part of bow hunting. I remember when my son lost his first arrow, he pretty much had a melt down. Very funny now. Sounds like a fun time I will see if I can get some of my hunting partners to come and enjoy the fun. Thanks for sharing!
-
Hey Jason you can go with me and my Buddy...that will allow me to laugh at you all day hahaha...I will give you a call about it later and see what time we are going to go.
-
Most targets have some sort of backstop. Might be a tree but at least you didn't lose an arrow.
-

-
I'm going to try and bring the rest of the grand kids it's one of the easiest walk thru I've ever been on,, and the course gets better every time I shoot there,, good work D rock

New shoot flyer

Opens at 730am, what time does it shut down? Also, how long does it take the average shooter to shoot a round? April and I are trying to make it, but right now it depends on my Hawks!
H2O, if your BIL needs a team he's welcome to join April and I.
-
If you started shooting early you could get done in less than 2 hours.
-
wish I could make it. It's a long drive from Idaho. Let me know how it goes.

Is the gator still around?
-
Is the gator still around?
Yeah the gator is still out there. :chuckle:
-
Just for you jackelope I will put him out for you.
-
How long does it take to get there from Bellingham and is it pretty muddy or not bad?
-
D-Rock, I may be able to drag a group of guys over from spokane.
Is it just a "fun shoot" like no awards, anything like that?
-

its not to muddy in the woods. One section might be bad if it keeps raining but I'll get that straight if I can.
-

I was hoping to do awards but I don't think its going to work out. I will have door prizes for shooters that stick around. More or less a fun shoot for the most part.
-

It'll probably take 1.5-2 hours from B-ham I'd guess.
-

Nice...thanks man. I appreciate that.
:o
-
If anyone is looking for something to do Sunday we will be setting up the course. Lunch is on me. Bring your now and fling a few arrows too.
-
We are set and ready to shoot. See you guys sunday I hope.
-
 can't wait
-
I believe ill be working. >:(
-
If it's not pissin down rain there will be at least three of us from Bellingham.
-
Weather report seems okay for the weekend.
-
Hawks play later in the day so there is no reason not to come shoot. I will try to get awards and door prizes out before the game starts if not it will be on the big screen. If anyone wants to hang out and watch the whole game at the club I'm cool with that too.
-
Weather permitting we'll be there when the gates open!
-
I wanted to go but with playoffs on Sunday I'm going to pass. I live in Renton so it would take me a bit to get there and back.
-
any chance of shooting it on Saturday ? we have practice sunday morning and then there happens to be a game on :chuckle:

I'm coming from Renton as well. Planning on leaving at o-dark-thirty then heading straight back to watch the game.
Carpooling with a buddy but have room. If you're interested shoot me a PM.

you would have plenty of time to shoot early and make it home before the game.
-
I'm going to add a few double point targets just to make things interesting.
-
Just got a goodie package from titan outdoors to be used as prizes.

Wow and this whole time I thought you was a guy? Guess I was wrong...
-
Just prizes that it not for me
-
Phelps game call package came today :IBCOOL:
-
What's a double point target?
-
What's a double point target?
normally a harder shot longer or a steel target of sort. most will have a normal target and an optional target that scores double points. Most targets score 10 8 5 a double point target scores 20 16 10.
-
Maybe a bigger target like a large deer at say 40 yards where you score normal points but then you put a small target like a beaver or raccoon at like 37 yards with double scores. If your in it for the award then shooting the bonus target is always a must for the point advantage.

at the frozen fletch I didn't gain points on any bonus target :bash:
-
Did you ring steel going for the 30points?
-
I took a solid 10 but still cracked an arrow hit just the edge by the nock but stuck in for a 10.
-
Weather looks good.
-
Should be up there by 8, leaving puyallup at 530.
-
Glad to here you're going to make it.

Good fun today. My wife shot her 1st 3d and said she could spend all day shooting targets. We brought our 6 year old daughter and her little dog with us and she got bored/cold/impatient at about target #16 so we bailed but had a great time. Thanks for putting that together D-rock. It was great fun and good talking to you.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.tapatalk.com%2Fd%2F14%2F01%2F20%2Fynu9utym.jpg&hash=c0a4caf2debbc60da24942b1e404693401357b39)
