Title: granite falls sportsmans snowball 3-D shoot Jan 19th 2014.
Post by: D-Rock425 on December 17, 2013, 04:16:28 PM
Granite falls sportsman's club will be hosting its 1st 3-D archery shoot of the year Sunday January 19th 2014.   Last year we had around 100 shooters so I would like to beat that this year.  So I'm laying down the challenge to hunt wa  members get a group together and come out and shoot!  We will have door prizes at the end of the shoot for those who stick around.

Come shoot have fun be safe.  That's all the rules I require for this shoot.  I have shooting stakes set at each target so everyone shoots from same location.  This will be just a fun shoot with some awards and door prizes.

That's a good one  :chuckle:  Loosing arrows is part of bow hunting.  I remember when my son lost his first arrow, he pretty much had a melt down.  Very funny now.  Sounds like a fun time I will see if I can get some of my hunting partners to come and enjoy the fun.  Thanks for sharing!

I was hoping to do awards but I don't think its going to work out.  I will have  door prizes for shooters that stick around.  More or less a fun shoot for the most part.

What's a double point target?
normally a harder shot longer or a steel target of sort.  most will have a normal target and an optional target that scores double points.  Most targets score 10 8 5 a double point target scores 20 16 10.

Maybe a bigger target like a large deer at say 40 yards where you score normal points but then you put a small target like a beaver or raccoon at like 37 yards with double scores. If your in it for the award then shooting the bonus target is always a must for the point advantage.

Good fun today. My wife shot her 1st 3d and said she could spend all day shooting targets. We brought our 6 year old daughter and her little dog with us and she got bored/cold/impatient  at about target #16 so we bailed but had a great time. Thanks for putting that together D-rock. It was great fun and good talking to you.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.tapatalk.com%2Fd%2F14%2F01%2F20%2Fynu9utym.jpg&hash=c0a4caf2debbc60da24942b1e404693401357b39)
