Title: rule question
Post by: Fishaholic on December 19, 2013, 11:41:27 PM
I might go fishing with a buddy in the am and was looking over the rules of the river and from aug 16 to nov 30 it says single point hook barbless required and there is no selective gear rule on trout in the part I will be fishing. SO my question is can I run a 2 hook setup with barbs if Im going after steelhead?

Thanks

What river?  Maybe post the rule at least?  Sounds like barbs are a not allowed.  Probably to protect native fish and smolt (baby salmon and steelhead).

The Hoquiam river. I am going to be fishing like  3 miles from the mouth. I cant find anything that says it has the selective gear rule. Its dec now and the single and barbless hook dosent apply because its aug 16 to nov 30 correct?

The only reason I ask is because I dont feel like getting a ticket becaus  I wasent following the rules.

Oh, I see what you are saying. Correct, sounds like the rule is over and they are letting you target hatchery brats with barbed hook and bait.
