This morning was one SNAFU after another, and while I was parking my truck a huge swell came in and carried my Jon boat into the rocks :yike: There is a good sized hole in it and the location of it I believe is unfix-able or any fix will just come apart down the road. Anyhow I have never bought a boat/motor/trailer package, and have found some great deals on craigslists. What should I look out for when buying a used boat package? Or do you recommend I go through a dealer? If you do can you point me int he right direction of a good dealer in either Skagit or Island County?

depending on what your boat is worth you might consider contacting your insurance agent.
-
My boat was a project Jon boat that cost me less than 200 bucks. Sorry I should have added that in my first posting.

Make sure you get an on-water test if buying used. Even with that you can still get burned by little things that creep up later.
2 strokes are cheap for a reason, they are gas guzzling whores!

I had a 20 hp jet that would fish all day on 5 gallons...

Seth, if all the aluminum is still there I can weld it up for you or weld a patch in it.
Let me know if you decide to fix it up.

An Evirude E-Tec (2 stroke) will sip gas just as well as a 4 stroke until you stomp on it. If you find a boat that you like ask to have a marine mechanic look at it first before you buy if you are not savy to what to look for. :twocents:

Galvanized trailer. Even though the Manufacture/ Dealer will try and charge more for galvanized, they actually cost less than painted to manufacture and will last longer.

We'll get it figured out. Sorry your day started like that.
A lot of work goes into a day of hunting just to have it ruined.
Are you able to go in the mean time?

Dude, That Sucks! Glad you didn't have to try swimming in your Waders though. :yike:

Yeah I can still jump shoot, or hunt the rock wall blinds on base if there available, but being there the easiest to get too most guys sign up for them :bash: Yeah swimming in my waders would have been horrible :yike:
