I just got a model 700, with a 26 inch barrel. I was wondering if anyone has one, and if so, what factory loads shoot the best? Thanks for any info it will all be very appreciated.
-
I have one but never shot any factory loads. Just hand loads.
-
most sevens that I have shot like the nosler partions. , I'd try to run horndy sst's
-
That would be great, my brother works for nosler at the small armory they just bought in Packwood.

remington premier scirocco power level 3

Had a stainless Rem700 with a Vais Arms brake for a couple years, never shot any big game with it but it sure smoked its share of RockChucks. It was super accurate with 160gr Accubonds and RL-25. Also shot the 150 BT's well with IMR 7828. My charge was slightly over the Nosler books max but I was getting 3400 and a little change out of the 150's. Makes for some spectacular hits on Chucks. I just seated them to mag length.

Wow! Thanks Bh. BnB when I got the rifle it came with two boxes of the scirocco's, so that's great to hear. Thanks.

Great cartridge, nothing like swinging the biggest, baddest, non-proprietary 7mm on the planet.
Straight from the Nosler book. SCHWIIIIIIING!!! ;)

Sundra loves his 7mm's!

That's awesome!! I can't wait to try it out next year on a muley in Idaho.
-
I have one and shoot hand loads, this gun is so flat shooting its awesome
-
I only shot one once and it was because my buddy could not hit his arz with it :chuckle: :chuckle: But it was a long ways out there ..So I told him let me see it ....I was impressed

And with a Brake, recoil is a pleasure. One smooth shooting power house.
-
Where did you get the break on yours? How much was it installed? If you don't mind me asking?
-
I would focus on the heavier bullets in factory loads. That case works best with the 150, 160, and 175 grain bullets. the 160gr Accubond loads look like they would be ideal.
I played with one in a Savage Striker for a little while. It was a little over bore for the 19" barrel. :chuckle:

I usually send them to:
http://www.muzzlebrakes.com (http://www.muzzlebrakes.com)
Lately, if Benchmark in Arlington can get to it quick enough I have them put a Vais or Vais style brake on for me.
The going rate is around 200.00 that includes the brake and installation. You can call Harrell's and purchase a brake in the raw(25.00) and pay a smith a 100.00 bucks or so to install it. They work well, especially for the .284 bore diameter.
I did notice Muzzlebrakes.com did raise their prices a bit.

Thanks for all of the info and advice. I really do appreciate it.
