Title: Rbros built 6.5X47L elk hunting pic
Post by: Jim the Plumber on December 23, 2013, 09:06:19 PM
Took this picture while elk hunting this year. I was hunting at about 6000 ft after a 7 mile ride in on horse back.
Rifle is my 6.5X47 Lapua with NF NXS 5.5-22.
running a flash hider instead of my Gemtech as it makes for easier climbing.

Awesome picture! Perfect setting for, in my opinion, one of the, if not the, best built rifles in the pacific northwest!  :tup:an awesome built gun!

A little after sun up in this shot. Really like the weathered stump.

That would be a really nice rifle if it wasn't wrong handed.   All kidding aside, looks like someone put a little time and $$$ into that one.

That rifle built on their Rogue action or Rem 700? I am wondering what the prince difference might be.  I have a vision on a build just gota pick the action.

Travis built it on a one off left hand Rogue. This action is built with all the things one would want in it.
Very rigid, Sako type extractor, one piece bolt, set up to take 700 aftermarket parts.
"did it kill anything?" I've killed a lot with it. This trip not so much.

Distance I would shoot the following with this rifle: varmints, 1200 yards+.  Deer, ~800 yards. Elk, ~600 yards. Bear, ~400 yards.
This is a group I shot at 590 yards with 130 Beger VLD's:
