Title: Martin Diablo TD
Post by: highmuley on December 26, 2013, 06:54:16 AM
I'm new to bow hunting. I currently own a compound but, I am wanting to start using a recurve. I am considering the Martin Diablo and the PSE Coyote. If any of you have any insight on these bows please let me know. Or if you have any suggestions on a different recurve, I am very open. I am trying to keep my purchase below $300 and I want to purchase a bow this weekend. Thanks in advance.

Both of those bows are based on old compound risers.  Neither one can be shot off the shelf , because they require a compound style rest, usually a flipper, but you could use a biscuit.  You can get into a Bear recurve for a little over $300, about $340, or you could try the Samick Sage for only $150.  Not a bad bow for the money, although they are made in China.  Because of the holidays stock is low, but I still have some of the Samick bows at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Federal Way.  I'll be there until 5 today.  Stop by if you get a chance, and we can talk traditional bows.  I can even let you try the Samick.

I was also looking at the Sage. My concern was the quality. I am working till 4:30, in Puyallup. Otherwise I would love to stop by. What other days are you available? PM me. Thanks
