Looks like somebody slipped a little. I'm not one to start rumors but the Mathews forum shows the new add for 2009. Looks like they will have one that will IBO 340 and the other 360. Does not show a picture of the bow but rumor has the 360 bow some sort of double cam system. Release date is Monday the 17th. Can't wait!!

Ive read that stuff myself. I have a Switchback XT IBO is 318, and I love it. It will be tempting to upgrade if it is true. I dont think that they will have a dual cam, which seems anti Matthews.

Since I'm in the market for a new bow I'm looking forward to see what Mathews bring out. I have been keeping up with the rantings over on Archerytalk and it is hilarious. It is hilarious to watch all the retards arguing over whose bow is best and why brand x is a piece of crap, etc. I'm just happy that we have so many options of bows out there. There is something for everyone. With all the new bows I've been trying there hasn't been one master bow, they've all been awesome. For me it's just gonna end up being what fits me the best.

I read alot of the other forums that argue the Ford / Chevy thing and it does get old. You would think people would have better things to do. I like to shoot as many bows as I can and look at all of the positves of each bow in all aspects. The one with more positives and what feels right gets my money. It's a good thing to not be stuck on a brand name, it will leave your options open to plenty of good bows. I heard the shops will have the new Mathews available to shoot on Monday so I may just have to run up and compare it to the ones I've already shot. The speed thing has me a little leary but at my short draw I'll never acheive that anyway. Never really been a speed freak, I would rather have a good shooting bow than speed anyday. We'll see what Mathews came up with. Wonky, Keep doing what you are and settle for what feels right for you and you can't go wrong.

JBar what about a Fast shooting, just as quiet, and accurate bow would you then? I love my LX and have been contemplating a new "super fast bow". I have not done it yet, but this may be the year. Not stuck on a brand, but if any of the new bows shoot as smooth, accurate, and faster (claimed) then I am all for it. My Mathews IBO's at 317fps, but actually shoots a 404gr @64# -274fps. If I could increase the arrow speed with every thing else equal by 20fps or almost 8% I might finally be able to bring myself to buy a new bow. I just need to get some true chronographed speeds not the usual guessing claimed speeds.

I was also leary about the DXT and it's short A2A being unstable and inaccurate at longer ranges but I was wrong on that one. My current DXT set up is doing 266 and it's super quiet and accurate. My bow IBO's at 322 so in theory a bow that IBO's at 340 should put me around 290 and one that IBO's at 360 would put me around 310. I am more worried about controlling a broadhead at those higher speeds, I know it can be done but I have seen too many fast bows shoot real squirrely with a broadhead. To answer your question I probably would buy/shoot a bow like you described but I think I would order it in a 60 pounder and maintain my current speed yet be more comfortable shooting less pounds. We'll see on Monday what mathews came up with.

My brother is shooting the DXT, but we have not chronographed it yet. He shoots a 426 at 70# I am impressed with the overall bow for sure.

Wonder if they are staying with the lighter weight / slim limb technology of the Drenalin and DXT? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I am also excited about the new mathews line! If the bow actually chrono's over 318 and can stay that light I just might be switching over to mathews. I shot the new alphamax 32 and it will be hard to beat with them shaving all that extra weight off but I think mathews can do it. It gonna be a tough choice for me this year!

The Mathews website now has a countdown til the release of this new bow and shows a speedometer revving between 340 and 360 FPS. This should be interesting.

Stopped by the local shop on Friday and the owner said his demo bow was stuck in the UPS system and would not show up til Tuesday :bash: He did say everything would be online Sunday at midnight. Good thing I work nights, I won't have to stay up. I looked at the mathews count down and they have that needle stopping at 330 340 and 360. Hmmm Interesting!

Rainier, I would call Monday and see if UPS came through but I guess Mathews told them it won't show until Tuesday. I live really close so I'm gonna drop in Monday anyway.

Only 2 hrs 42 minutes until the web site unveils the new models. Nice to be on the West Coast, it's only 10:00pm for us.

I guess mathews will have to change their "solo cam" logo. It is now mathews dual cam. This should cause quite a following once the news gets out.
Kind of neat. The needle is stuck on 160!!! This will be interesting to say the least. The Reezen 6.5 looks like it might also be a winner.

Boo hiss...I waited up all this time to check out the new bows and all they have are short brace height bows. Looks like I've made up my mind, Elite Z28 here I come.

The reezen 7.0 has a 7 inch brace height.
The monster has a 6 inch brace height and looks just like the pse x-force...
Looks like they have taken many of the ideas from the X-force ...

Short brace height, split limb and dual cam. Not ready for that so I'll need to check out the Reezen 7.0 ( or 6.5 maybe ). Still picking up 13 fps over the DXT.

It has been pretty slow all day due to traffic I think. Everyone wants to check out what they came out with. I don't care for their twin cam bow the monster, I guess I just don't care much about the speed. The reezen looks like it is worth checking out to me though. Need to get my dad a new bow.

I stopped at Rainier Archery yesterday on the way home. Joe informed me that he would have the 360 one on the shelf in January. It has a 40-80 pound range. I already informed Joe that I will be getting one. Its all about speed for me Boys. Nothing else out there will touch that. Looks like 400 fps may finally be a reality. Did 396 fps with my Hypertech set at 100+ lbs. This one should be close at 80 lbs. Will let you know when it happens. :archer:

I thought you only shot Hoyt. You aren't gonna like the change in draw from the smooth hoyt to that 5" bh bow. Plus I think you have to shoot like 80lbs to get 360fps. Might as well just get a xforce. Well maybe not. Who knows it might be a joy to shoot.

Don't worry, I will be hangin onto the Hypertech. Maybe when I start torturing the Mathews the way I Have my Hoyts an explosion will take place. I have done the unthinkable with my Hoyt bows and they have never had a failure of any sort. Hope the same is true with Mathews.
My hats off to Bowtech for speed though. We shot a Black Knight set at 83 pounds and were able to get an arrow up to 383 fps.
Obviously these are not hunting weight arrows. These are screwing around in the shop weight arrows. :chuckle:

Shot the Reezen 6.5 last night, thought it would be hard to get a feel for it when the draw length was 2 inches too long. It actually had a good draw cycle, valley and holding a full draw was a breeze at 70# smooth all the way thru so I could only imagine it will be better on a bow that actually fits me. They stuck with the slim limb and though it weighs a touch more than the DXT it's not noticable enough to be a concern if you like the lighter bows. I would rather have the extra weight and longer A2A for stability.There was a little twong feel to it but it is quiet and seemed fast ( did not crono it ). I put an S-Coil on it and shot it again and it was noticibly better with just a stabalizer on it and was a pleasure to shoot. I decided to stick with the 7 inch brace height and ordered the Reezen 7.0, looks like a 4-6 week wait but I'll let you know how it is when it comes in. Was also looking at the Hyperlight as a good bow for my wife so I am ( I mean She is ) looking forward to shooting that one. Looks like Mathews is a little behind on production of the Monster as I was told they won't be available until late January which I think WAPITI already stated. Also looking forward to shooting that bow though I don't think I would like the 6 inch BH but I could be wrong.
