Hi
Have been hunting in Skagit County with a boat and dog this year.
Would like to walk in to Nisqully this Sunday morning the 5th with waders and a dog. Any suggestions for walking in, even if it is not a great location. Would just like to get out this Sunday. Landmark or area that I can reference from Google Earth.
Thanks,
Mark

As far as I know, there is no walk-in access at Nisqually.
You can't access for hunting from the refuge. South of the Luhr Beach launch used to mostly be open for hunting (McCallister Creek) but refuge took most of that over several years ago- but even then it would have been very difficult to walk in. Ditches and mud make any walking difficult at best in most of the area. North/East side of the river is refuge or tribal- no access I'm aware of. River above I-5 is JBLM- access is possible but not many birds up there.
If you want to hunt it you need a boat. Some guys hunt from kayaks and other small, mobile craft.

Thank You.

Be very careful. I highly recommend going out with somebody that knows the delta before attempting it on your own in the dark.
