Hey guys and gals,
I have recently acquired a glock 17 gen 4. I am not much of a handgun guy, more an ar15 fanatic but picked one up for a screaming deal. anyhow, just looking for a little insight on what upgrades are desired on a glock 17 for primarily a range toy that could double as a home defense pistol. Forgive me if this has been covered, couldn't find anything in the search option. Thanks in advance, look forward to all replies.

Lots of add-ons for the Glocks. Best upgrade would be installing a Ghost Trigeer and get the pul down to 3.5#'s. quite a few after market barrels and compensators...Lone wolf is what 99% go to for the drop-in after market parts at lonewolfdist.com. Maybe some custom stippling for a tackier grip?

Heres a sampling on a G30 gen4..

I dont know what stippling costs. I added the Talon rubber grip enhancement to all my Glocks and love em! 17 bucks a gun is cheap! I have the 3.5 lb trigger connector also. cheap, easy mods! Im looking for a comped barrel for my G27 but Lonewolf is backorder status.

Trigger and sights, both are a must. After that, there is no limit on aftermarket parts and accessories, let your needs and wallet dictate.

Thanks for all the replies! I definitely plan on getting some trijicon night sights on there, been throwing around the idea of a new phantom trigger, and also been looking at the storm lake stainless barrels as well as the Wilson combat stainless barrel. But that will be later on after I have put lots of rounds down range!
Edit: also good idea on the stippling, also been very curious, I may take one of my old plastic a2 grips for ar15's and practice stippling those

I put this setup on my G27 and couldent be happier! Target aqusition is amazingly fast! I cant believe how awesome the ghost ring is.

There's a guy on Spokane Gun Trader that goes by Glock Doc. Find him a pick his brain.
I put a 3.5# transfer bar and extended slide release ( think that's what they are called ) on my 29sf and like it. Probably less than $40 total and it's even idiot proof since I did it myself. Shoots nice.
