Title: Considering a florida turkey hunt this spring
Post by: MerriamMagician on January 07, 2014, 05:12:46 PM
I'm strongly considering going down to florida to try to hunt osceolas DIY style with my hunting buddy this year. I have been doing some research and am curious as to if anyone on this forum has given this a try yet? If if do pull it off, I will return home and attempt to get the Washington slam. I've tried it the last two years and have came up short on the eastern. But if we are successful with the osceola hunt then I will have an outside chance of getting a grand slam which has been a dream of mine since my early childhood.

What part of Florida are you planning on going to?

If you do that then you'll need to hit up Mexico

Good luck finding public land to hunt them, unless you're planning on a private land hunt.  Ocala National Forest in Central Florida is okay but most of the good turkey hunting is on private ranches where there's pastures bordered by woods.
