Title: Are coyote populations up?
Post by: GUHunter on January 08, 2014, 11:41:59 AM
Quail hunted in the Wapato area this past weekend. All private land that my uncle has hunted since the mid-80s and I've been hunting since 1998. It was easily the slowest year we've seen. This was his third trip of the year and my first but our take was probably half of normal. We noticed substantially more coyote sign than normal and saw 2 coyotes while hunting as compared to the one I've seen in all other years combined. Are coyote numbers way up in the greater Yakima region? Are quail numbers low throughout central Washington this year?
