well took a trip up to hancock kapowsin today. saw 8 deer, and a dozen elk. no bulls but did see a buck. everything was on the move. perhaps due to the first day of calm weather in a while. exciting none the less. more action than i had in a single day all season long. im still have faith that the deer population up there is plentiful. cant confirm the actual size of the buck due to lack of a spotting scope, but deffinately had good size rack in the binos. bedded down and comfy only 50 yds or so from a clear cut. kinda suprised he hadnt dropped his horns yet also. one guy i talked to that was cutten wood said he saw one with horns yesterday too. is it a bit early yet for them?

Most of those bucks will shed out in Jan. sometime

Majority are still packing. The bell curve is just starting to climb.

I have seen bulls with out their head gear and others with. It is just a matter of time before they fall.

My little daughter called me this morning and said she saw a "giant" buck with a doe on her way to school. She would have been looking at a north Desert buck, and was sure excited. :chuckle: Love her outdoor enthusiasm.

A few years ago while turkey hunting on the opener I saw bulls with head gear still.

The bulls I was watching and getting trail cam pictures of last year lost theirs at the end of March or beginning of April.
Deer, I don't know, haven't been seeing many deer but the ones I have seen have all been antlerless.
