I lost my ramrod the day I got my elk this year and at first was just going to buy a replacement but my dad is a machinest and has all sorts of scraps everywhere. He has some aluminum and steel rod that I am pretty sure I can easily make into a new ramrod for the cost of free vs paying $35 for one from Traditions. Since I dont have the ramrod on me I am just looking for anyone with the same gun that can give me the dimensions. Diameter of the rod? Length I can figure out but to be doubly sure can anyone tell me that as well? The diameter is the big thing. I am sure I can just measure the holders on the bottom of the barrel but it would just make it easier to know the exact diameter of a finished rod.
Also, does anyone know where I could get one of the little screws that holds the little metal rings on the bottom of the barrel? The ones that hold the ramrod. One came out that same day and 1 chance in a million I found the metal ring in the brush by me but I need the screw for it. I tried contacting Traditions in mid Dec but have not heard anything back yet.

I will look. Is it 28", or "30 barrel? If it was me, I would just buy a new 1. I have seen them at Sportco.

its a 28" barrel. I'm not near Sportco. I would rather buy a new one but finances make me lean towards making one if I can and save the money. Esp since we even have the taps to thread it so I can still use my cleaning jag and such

I will try and mic it tomorrow. I live in Seattle and will probably head down to the Cowlitz in the next couple of weeks. I think I have a extra 1, if u want to copy exact.

I appreciate it. I am not in a huge hurry so whenever ya get around to it. I think the measurements will do what I need, if I need to fine tune it then I can ticker with it some. Thank ya though
