Title: 2012 dodge
Post by: jason stevens on January 19, 2014, 09:39:05 AM
Ok guys here goes. I've got a 2012 dodge 1500 crew. It started raining inside my truck. At first it was a couple drips then the whole back seat was wet. So after two trips to the dealer and three days without my truck the leak was fixed.turns out the third brake light was not sealed proper causing water to run the window seams and into the truck.all covered by warranty. So if you change that light please seal it good to avoid the leaks.thanks for reading.

My buddy has a 2013 2500 crew and had the same problem! Went through the car wash and it turned into a down pour.

I had this happen on my 06.  I found it is a common issue.  As well as the rear slider.  I just got lucky and had both of them leak in my truck.

What dealer? Known issue. It should have not taken multiple trips to figure it out. A couple days maybe in order to give you your truck back dry inside but 2 Trips to diagnose it? Booooo... I coulda told you what was wrong with it over the phone. Glad it's fixed.

First trip was to fix a burnt out third brake light, second trip was to fix the water leak that they forgot to seal.glad I had a warranty. I saved for a long time for this truck and it seems to go to the dealer to many times. No out of pocket cost yet but I've never had issues with older vehichles. The dealer was smokey point rairdans.the truck was bought in monroe they have done a great job with my nitpickin.

Your 3rd brake light housing wasn't leaking because they changed the bulb. It's a known issue with that housing leaking water into the truck. Most of the nitpick issues you'll have with a new car are right when it's new. You'll get all your nitpick issues handled and then the truck will be fine. Seems to all happen in the 1st 20k miles. You can see trend that way from car to car. Not 100% of the time, but it does seem to happen like that.
