Finally had some time to get out and test my new e-call I got for xmax ..... Primos turbo dogg.... set the call up the call about 60 yards out in front of me with two long feathers hanging from a carbon arrow for visual effects .... after the first set of howls to locate... waited about 4 minutes and started with a pup in distress.... about 8 minutes of letting it play had on come in on a rope straight to the call..... soon as it seen the call it turned and took off as fast as it came in.... got two shots off hitting it with the second .... just no recovery .... "oh poor" baby killer.....
As far as the Primos Turbo Dogg it has got my vote for great quality and easy to use....
Maybe its time to get a AR and get more shots off LOL

I looked at the Primos last year in Idaho wolf hunting. The salesman said, watch this. He proceeded to turn it on and change calls through sheetrock, in a shelf by a clothes rack. I couldn't believe it...
-
yeah .... I played with mine inside the house while the call was on the front porch....

If Campmeat did that he'd have coyotes sitting on his front porch! :chuckle:

I had one walking up my driveway last Sunday. The ol' offhand 22-250 missed him. I think I was using the Heredoggydoggy call off the porch.......kinda like a little girl screaming noise. :chuckle: That will scare the crap out of anything, I swear !!

That's nothing! When I played the Raccoon Distress call in my back yard, all the neighboring Mexicans ran into the house, shut the door, and pulled down the shades! They must have thought the Chupacabra was coming to get them! :chuckle:

What were you shooting?
-
savage 12FVSS in a 223
-
why'd ya ask what I was shooting ?
-
Just curious is all. I'm getting into predator hunting pretty heavy and just trying to absorb as much info as possible. Seeing what does and doesn't put dogs down. What gives good follow up shots, what doesn't.
-
I have shot them with them from a 17hmr to 300 win mag.... if ya want a very versatile round look at a 243.,.... I have one shooting 55 grain hollow points for yotes and then shoot 95 grain accubonds for my son during deer season
If ya want one for just yotes you can never beat a 223 or 22-250
-
I just bought a new AR a few weeks ago, so I don't see myself getting a new gun anytime soon. And I think I'm pretty set up for what I want to do anyways. I've heard good things about the .243 though too.
-
very nice.... what did ya go with.... I think I am going to go get a DPMS Bull 20
yes.... I have seen a 243 take just about everything from yotes to elk
-
It's a custom build. It's got a 1:7 twist barrel, so I'm in the process of loading some 75gr hornady's. I went and bought a nikon coyote specialist scope to to top it off.
I'm excited to lay some dogs down. Hopefully going to go sight it all in tomorrow, maybe do some calling while I'm at it.

VERY sweet looking
-
Thank you. It's been a couple years worth of saving my nickles and dimes. Probably the nicest thing this college kid owns. I'm really excited to see how it performs!
-
How far are ya from Kalama ?
I am sure that machine is gonna be a sweet killing rig....
-
Haha I just googled that myself. Looks like it's 1hr 45mins. I live in Milton, just a smidge north of Tacoma.
-
Awwwwww..... well if you are ever down this way....make sure ya bring it.... my back yard is nothing but timber land with hundreds of clear cuts thanks to Weyco
-
Don't tempt me haha! It's not that far of a drive! I don't get much free time, between school and work I pull about 75-80hrs a week, but every once in a while I'll have a saturday or sunday off... I'd be down to make it happen!
-
hey anytime .....
