Senate Bill 6260 sponsored by Senators Hatfield, King, Padden, Parlette, and Kline was introduced today and regards Discover/WDFW Pass fine money. Some history:
Prior to 2012 all Discover/WDFW Pass fine money was handled like all other fines. 32% goes to the state general fund and the county keeps the remaining 68%.
In 2012 legislation was passed that all Discover/WDFW pass fine money would go into the Recreation Pass Account which is where the money from the sales of the Discover/WDFW pass goes.
This bill, would go back to the "old" form of 32% going to the state, and 68% going to the county. The only change is, the 32% that goes to the state would not go into the general fund, but rather into the Recreation Pass Account.

I HATE the pass and can't vote because NOTHING good has come from ANY portion of the DP being implemented.

I have to agree with you SpecialT, this is a seemingly unconstitutional tax that the people did not get to vote on. I don't agree with it and am not voting for the funds to go to either place.

Actually State Parks was against having the fine money going into the Discover Pass account
