We've never had a coyote in the yard after first light before. This guy came to about 30 feet from the house at 8:30 am to try to snag a chicken. The roosters were all heading straight for him, puffed up and ready for a fight when I heard the commotion. My kids were hollering for me to shoot him. So I put my cup of coffee down, grabbed a rifle and stepped out the back. I was surprised that he didn't run off. I shot him while wearing slippers and a bath robe, so I guess I can check that off the bucket list. The kids thought it was way more exciting than Saturday morning cartoons!
I apologize for the blood if that sort of thing offends anyone out there.

Gotta love shooting yotes in your bath robe. Some of my most memorable "varmint control expeditions" have been spur of the moment, minimally clothed expeditions. One coyote at about 230 yards from my upstairs bathroom window while sitting nearly naked in the tub, without water, with sandbag in the window sill and a opossum in the bushes in the back yard in my butt huggers in the middle of the night on my hands & knees with the 9mm with light & laser and my dang dog, who started the whole mission nosing me in the butt.
