Know it is a canine and I think it is to big for a coyote but is it big enough for a wolf?

yup - they aren't all huge if they're female or juvenile. If you find an alpha male track you'll crap your britches.
Doesn't mean it's a wolf though, but it could be.

Not sure, but I would not stay around there to long it looks like he dropped his smokes and from what I have seen they are really expensive so I'm sure he will be back for them. :chuckle: :tup:

I do not know but I have not seen any coyote track as big as a cig pack :dunno: unless they have bigger paws on the eastside :dunno: :chuckle: :yike:

I saw a pair of tracks 20 years ago in fresh snow, and at first I thought they were St. Bernards. when I got to them and looked at them, I thought no St. Bernard makes tracks that big! Had to be a pair of wolves... It was miles from any house, too...

Coyote tracks are not that wide they are more oval

Track size is 4 inches to 4 1/2 x 5 inches and is a good place to start Jingles.

a really good guess with looking at wolf tracks on the internet, and doing some reading those look to be wolf tracks...i dont trust the internet too much, but that track looks a little wide... :)

wolf track. main pad is chevron shaped(front foot). Stradle is 4-6", walking stride is 26-30". Front feet have a two lobe heel pad(chevron shape) and rear hells are 3 lobed. Some huskys front feet have the some two lobe heel pad but are always 20% smaller than a wolf of the same weight and typically dont have as long of a walking stride.
